Brown Dust 2 Guides
From Infinite Draw to Fiend Hunter — tutorials that match how the game actually spends your time.
Brown Dust 2 looks like a character collector and plays like a board-game tactics title. These guides exist because those two loops collide on day one: you pull costumes, not faces; you fight on a 3x4 grid with SP and knockback; you raise plus ranks on buffers before you chase every limited attacker. Start with getting started if the lobby still feels like two UIs stacked on each other. Use reroll only after you understand Infinite Draw. Then learn combat, costumes, and team building in that order.
Claim codes before you read anything long. A monthly coupon will not decide your account, but it will pay for the 12-Pick tickets the beginner path wants.
What each guide is for
- Getting started — install, lobby, story packs, first week resources, what not to sell.
- Reroll — Infinite Draw targets, when a full reset is a waste, 12-Pick vs 1-Pick.
- Combat — 3x4 grid, turn order, knockback, SP, chain damage, why lanes matter.
- Costumes — skills as outfits, mid-fight swaps, plus ranks, pity, selective banners.
- Team building — 3 supports + 1 attacker + 1 flex, buff categories, story vs Fiend Hunter.
- Fiend Hunter — three teams, weak points, chain thresholds, when Burst is optional.
- Gear — exclusive weapons, HP versus crit, who to craft first.
The tier list is not a substitute for these pages. Ranks move when a costume plus rank or a new Fiend pattern appears. Guides explain the rules the ranks assume.
How the game is structured
Story, character, and event content ships as game packs — cartridges you slot on the home shelf. Packs contain stages, elite fights, and often a costume you earn by playing rather than pulling. That is why a new Master can field Justia, Lathel, or a free 4-star like Kry without winning a 200-pity banner. Combat still uses the same five-person squad and the same SP pool whether you are in a pack, Evil Castle, Mirror Wars, or Fiend Hunter.
If you came from Brave Nine / Brown Dust 1, the sequel shrinks the board from a wide 3x6-ish fight to a tighter 3x4 with five units. Planning is faster. Knockback and chain matter more because you have fewer tiles to hide on.
Suggested reading order
- Redeem 2026BD2SEP with how to redeem.
- Skim getting started while the tutorial is still fresh.
- Decide whether reroll is worth an evening. For most people it is not.
- Play two story packs while reading combat. Practice knockback on trash, not on the first boss you wipe to.
- Open costumes before you spend Dia. Then build a real squad with team building and the support roster.
- Open gear before you smash four SR sets, then Fiend Hunter when the weekly card is up.
- Only then trust the PvE tier list and PvP ranks.
Videos on this wiki
Each tutorial page embeds at most one real YouTube video in the middle of the article. We do not invent IDs. If two community videos cover the same reroll loop, we keep one. Combat, costumes, and team building each have a different recording so you are not watching the same intro three times.

If a page disagrees with an in-game tooltip, the client wins. Brown Dust 2 patches skills without a Steam changelog. We would rather send you to a dated but honest guide than to a filler list of “ten tips.”
Frequently Asked Questions

Which Brown Dust 2 guide should I read first?
The getting started guide if you are new, or combat if you already pulled and keep wiping on elites.
Do I need to reroll before reading anything else?
No. Infinite Draw already gives a 5-star costume. Read reroll only if you want a specific buffer.
Are costumes the same as characters?
No. Costumes are skills. See the costume guide.
Where do codes fit into the guide path?
Claim them first on the codes hub, then follow this reading order so the tickets have a plan.
